Make BGG blocks actually disappear.
BGG Hard Block removes hidden-user placeholders, direct posts, quotations, and identifying names from BoardGameGeek discussions while preserving the surrounding conversation.
Firefox needs version 153 or newer, desktop only. BGG Hard Block is GPL-3.0 and has no build step, so the files in the repository are the files that run in the browser — what you install can be checked against what is published.
By default, the extension also adds Hidden Users to BoardGameGeek’s separate user-level subscription blocks. That option can be turned off; existing subscription blocks are never removed automatically.
The extension stays inactive until the user reviews an in-extension disclosure and affirmatively agrees. It handles BoardGameGeek data only for its single stated purpose.
On forum indexes and post thumbs popovers, blocked profile names become inert Blocked labels while allowed names and the surrounding listing remain intact.
Page access is limited to forum indexes, forum threads, GeekLists, images, videos, files, and individual blog posts—the places where BGG uses its shared discussion components. It does not run on BGG’s home page, game pages, collection, store, account pages, or unrelated pages.
